Head priest of Ecruteak City's Brass Tower, he rushed into the burning building that fateful day and perished as he tried to save two other souls. Resurrected by Ho-oh as one of Johto's "Legendary Beasts", rejected by those who once stood alongside him, he chose to dedicate his life to the purification of waters as he follows the north wind.

While his school was persecuted during the following years, a part of it subsisted by worshipping Suicune instead of Lugia. There's still some conflict with those who chose to stay on the side of the silver-feathered bird but Suizen himself isn't involved of such matters.

Personality

Suizen is a calm person. Like his mentor, he is kind to a fault: the only difference is that while Ho-oh knows when to step in, Suicune tends to not intervene and pick up the pieces after. Transcending humanity is a concept he still struggle to grasp: on one hand he is grateful to Ho-oh for giving him this chance, on the other he doesn't feel worthy of such an important duty.

Relationship

Aurum: Suizen feels like he doesn't deserve Ho-oh's kindness, given he worshipped Lugia instead during his lifetime: still, he's glad to have been given a second chance at life as well as an occasion to talk with such a wise being. He will do anything in his power to repay the favor.

Argyros: Suizen does not blame Lugia for the incident at the Brass Tower, believing they only did what they could think of to salvage the situation. While he no longer has the right to transmit their teaching, he still likes to think of the purification of water as a service to them.

Yorimitsu: While Suizen respects her as a person, she isn't necessarily someone he gets along with most of the time. She's too reckless, getting involved with mortals as often as she is... He treats her like a little sister.

Note

  • He became chief priest of the Brass Tower the year before his death, which is why his resurection by Ho-oh created some tensions in the religious sphere: Lugia's followers not only lost an important figure, but feared Ho-oh's priests would gain even more influence than they already had.
